Location and access

British Consulate-General, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Getting to the Consulate General

Our office is located at 25 Le Duan Boulevard. We share our building on one side with the British Council, who takes up much of the left side of the building and the 2nd floor.

Transport

Taxis are well priced and plentiful and can be hailed on the street or through your hotel concierge.  Most taxis are reliable but some companies are better than others, for example Vinataxi (3811 1111) and Mai Linh (3823 2323).

Many taxi drivers speak little English, so if you are departing from a restaurant or your hotel ask the concierge or restaurant staff to explain where you want to go.  Try to collect name cards of places to make this process easier.

Xe Om's, or motorbike taxi's, are the only other convenient method of transport around the city.  These are cheap and quick, but can be dangerous and unreliable.  The Consulate General therefore does not recommend their use.

Parking

We are sorry that there is no public parking space here. The nearest available parking is at Ben Thanh Theatre located on Mac Dinh Chi Street.

Security

You enter the building from Le Duan Street through our security gate.  The guards should know to expect you. Your bags will be security checked and you may be asked to leave your mobile phone and any other electronic devices in the guard hut.  Our security is tight, so please bear with us.

Please co-operate with the security team as they conduct their checks and controls, each of which should take only a few minutes. The security measures in place are for the benefit of all visitors and staff.

Smoking

As with all other FCO buildings we do not allow smoking indoors.

Mobile Phones

You may be asked to leave your phone at the guard hut upon arrival.  If you are permitted to bring your phone into the building there is no need for you to turn it off.
