Ambassador's update: Vietnamese Business Forum (04/06/2009)
On Monday, I attended the Vietnamese Business Forum in Ho Chi Minh City. This is an occasion for Vietnamese and international companies to meet with the government, ambassadors and international organisations to discuss the business environment in Vietnam in preparation for the World Bank Consultative Group meeting, which will take place in Dak Lak next week.
There was a very interesting presentation on Project 30, which aims to simplify administrative procedures in Vietnam to make it easier to do business here. Look at the Vietnam Business Forum website for more details. And Project 30 is described in more details at www.thutuchanhchinh.vn.
And I should mention that Seb Kay, a member of the Embassy and his wife took part in the VTV programme ‘Expat Living’ in Ha Long Bay last weekend. It will be broadcast on VTV4 on 11 June at 10 pm. Have a look!
