Changes to the UK visa service from 2 March 2009

All passports, applications & related documents will be sent to the British Embassy in Bangkok, where they will be assessed.

The process will not change for applicants, other than the process time. The whole process will normally be completed from 7 to 15 working days for non-settlement applications.

The changes make it more important than ever that applicant should apply for an UK visa well in advance of travel. We suggest at least two weeks in advance of your proposed travel date.

The British Embassy in Hanoi & Consulate General in HCMC will no longer have any ability to arrange visas at short notice and once submitted, the applicant will not be able to get there passport back until collection of the application.

The Consulate General in HCMC only accepts applications meeting Fast-track (FT) criteria for onward transmission to the British Embassy in Bangkok.

All applicants must apply online and book an appointment before visiting the Embassy or Consulate.
