There are three types of working visas covered in this section:

• Work permits
• Work permit dependants
• Business visas

Process

All applicants must apply on-line and book an appointment before visiting the Embassy or the Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City. The Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City only accepts applications meetings Fast-track criteria.

To assist the Embassy to process your visa application, you will be required to submit the documentary evidence listed below. The Entry Clearance Officer may also ask for further documentation before a decision can be made on your application. Supporting documentation should be originals and a full set photocopies should also be submitted.

Please ensure that you are applying under the correct category before submitting your application. If you apply under the wrong category, your application may be refused.

Postage fees & refunds

For applicants applying in HCMC, a postal fee of VND 80,000 is also payable (These fees are subject to periodic review).

Please note that visa fee cover the processing of application and is not refundable in the event that the application is refused.

Work permits

Requirements:

• Your completed online visa application form with signature + 01 passport sized colour photograph with light background
• Your current passport (valid for at least six months) and any other passports you have held
• Your valid UK Work Permit
• Your labour contract (terms and conditions) with UK employer
• Your employment CV and supporting evidence (if applicable)
• Your qualifications
• Evidence of your savings and property (if applicable)
• Evidence of your relationship to the sponsor (eg letters, telephone bills, emails photos...)
• Your household booklet

Work permit dependants

Requirements:

• Your completed online visa application form with signature + 01 passport sized colour photograph with light background
• Your current passport (valid for at least six months) and any other passports you have held
• Your sponsor's immigration status in the UK (a copy of passport and UK immigration stamps)
• Evidence of your sponsor's studying in the UK
• Evidence of sponsor's six-month bank statements
• Evidence of accommodation in the UK
• Your leave letter (if applicable)
• Evidence of your savings and property (if applicable)
• Evidence of your relationship to the sponsor (eg Marriage Certificate, Birth Certificate...)
• Your household booklet

Business visas

Requirements:

• Your completed online visa application form with signature + 01 passport sized colour photograph with light background
• Your current passport (valid for at least six months) and any other passports you have held. If you are travelling on a diplomatic or an official passport, you will need to submit a supporting note from either the Consular Department in Hanoi or the External Relations Office in Ho Chi Minh City
• Invitation letter from company in UK with itinerary
• Supporting letter from your company
• Evidence of your employment
• If you are self-employed: business licence, certificate of business registration, property documents, lease contracts, tax balance sheets
• If you work for someone else: labour contract or letter from your employer to confirm your employment
• Household booklet
