FCO funded projects in Vietnam

At their meeting in London on 5 March 2008, Prime Ministers Nguyen Tan Dung and Gordon Brown agreed to work together to further good governance, accountability and rule of law issues. The Prime Ministers emphasised their countries' joint efforts to tackle corruption. They also agreed on the urgent need to tackle climate change globally and achieve a satisfactory agreement post-Kyoto, but also work together on the urgent priority of adaptation in Vietnam, as one of the countries likely to be most affected by climate change. In recent years, the British Embassy Hanoi - through a number of funds - has given priority to supporting media and access to information, free flow of ideas, tackling climate change. We plan to do more on legal, judicial and parliamentary cooperation. Funds sponsored by British Embassy Hanoi and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office include:

  • The UK-Vietnam Fund
  • Strategic Programme Fund
